The Overlook Master Plan adds to and clarifies the relation between the sleep, live, and workspaces of an existing house in Upstate New York. The new studio and primary suite are placed perpendicular to the living space of the existing house, allowing it to become more open. Each program has its own building, with the void between defining outdoor rooms. The cross-axis creates a terraced courtyard around the pool and garden, establishing framed views in all directions. The project remains consistent with the original simple geometric volume placed in the landscape.
